Are there any well regarded brands in the EU that sell high quality short?

Love my Dickies shorts because Iโ€™ve found them to be well made and long lasting but am considering options if I can find equivalent products.

Engelbert Strauss has great pants, they are specialised for work clothes but they have a lot of options.

If you like outdoor clothing i can recommend Fjallraven, however i am not sure what sort of shorts you are looking for

Any experience on long-term durability? I've read quite a few negative comments online about their durability.

Youโ€™d probably have to look at workwear to find something comparable to dickies, as dickies used to be workwear. But I feel you, I love my dickies shorts too and hope they last forever as Iโ€™m not going to buy new ones.

Love the Shorts and pants by Reell

Iโ€˜m a cargo pants and shorts guy and can attest them a lifetime of many years. Wearing mine for at least five years now.

Also Varusteleka has some nice shorts. Pockets in the right places, comfy.

The athletic/weightlifting style shorts from decathlon are peak. Lightweight and stretchy where you need it.

I've had dickies but after decathlon I can't go back. Sure maybe they won't last 15 years but 3 seems reasonable for a nearly every day wear for me. And they're still going.

Hansen Garments are a bit upscale but their stuff is insanely well made and good looking. Each one I own feel like they will last me a lifetime.

You didn't say cheap just high quality, so merz b schwanen and sunspel are both made in Europe and both very high quality.

Lol, was totally thinking shorting stocks for some reason. But you mean shorts as in pantaloons.

I have no recommendations as I'm across the pond

Is Pantaloon a real word? sounds like the Spanish one for trousers (pantalon)

[โ€“] Quill7513@slrpnk.net 2 points 14 hours ago

here in the United States it generally means your underpants, but a lot of people in the northern appalachians will call any pants pantaloons

[โ€“] Fiivemacs@lemmy.ca 1 points 12 hours ago

It's real yes. Old timey word that I like using every now and then for fun :)

I was originally introduced to he word because of the Simpsons when Bart said 'must drop pantaloons '. I think Lisa was a witch or something. Can't remember exactly.
