Started using Amazon in 2009. I was a big fan. Then I hated it for about 10 years, and stopped using it about 5 years ago. Amazon sucks at everything. It is the worst place to buy things. Amazon subscribers who are reading this, you only use it because it’s easy. Be better than easy and your life, the world around you, and the products you spend your limited money on will be better.
I wish I agreed. There are several products in the past couple years which I couldn't find from any company that seemed at all reliable. I can give a recent example if you want.
After in the past literally waiting two months for items that never arrived and other weird experiences, easy seems pretty attractive. I wish at least some other companies could compete without being so goddamned shitty. Because yes, Amazon certainly is that.
Go buy it locally. Order it from a specialty retailer. If you can’t do either of those, the item you’re looking for might as well not exist. Just pretend all the shit on Amazon doesn’t exist
A lot of those items may as well not exist if Amazon is entirely off limits. I have tried what you're suggesting, canceled prime and avoided Amazon for months. Ultimately I went back after having quite a bit of trouble.
You probably aren't American, because if you were, you'd know that even pretty large (but smaller ) chains have often had to close. Years ago stores like bed bath and beyond closed in my area. Smaller stores than that stand even less of a chance.
How the hell are they supposed to keep up with increasing business costs when Amazon is completely eating their lunch? Another example -- I was a big fan of radio shack. I liked buying there my electronics adapters, cables, and most things they sold, but that entire chain was destroyed. You don't seem to understand this or that the mom and pop shops have an even tougher time staying in business, at least in many locales. I live in a medium city btw. I'm not in the middle of nowhere. Retail is all but dead here.
Haha dude I’m American. You sound so ridiculously dramatic. There are still tons of stores in existence that you can shop from. And if you can’t or don’t want to shop local, just order what you’re looking for from the manufacturers website. Most of them have free shipping that’s just as fast as Amazon. I’m telling you as an American, you don’t need Amazon. They want you to think you do, but you don’t
Thanks for reminding me you know my city better than I do, and dismissing my efforts to do just what you're suggesting.
Sorry, you’re right. You need Amazon. How awful life would be without it. All hail Amazon. Long live Amazon. Praise be to Amazon.
Binary, yay. You can tell that I love amazon by the way I talk about it.
How would you respond to going to your local grocery store and finding any non food product you've bought your entire life in grocery stores is either not available or isn't half the time? That's the kind of shit I'm seeing. Trust me, I know Amazon is mostly responsible for this. But life is already hard enough, I can't spend all my time traversing town to buy basics. It's an uphill battle I won't win.
You all are so defensive. It’s crazy what Amazon has done to us. Maybe try some different products. Brand loyalty is also a big part of why we’re in this economic nightmare. Stop using Amazon. Stop buying products you don’t need
I'm just being realistic. You're being dismissive of others' situations
You being realistic is saying that Amazon is vital for your life and you can’t go without it? That’s absolutely ridiculous.
You telling others how to live their lives assumes things are like they were 15 years ago even though they absolutely aren't.
I've paid till June, and it says if I cancel, I lose like 50 days of access.... that's bullshit. I paid for it and I'm pretty sure that's illegal, now I'm even more mad.
Free delivery on orders over $50, so you really don't need Amazon Prime at all.
