Bookmarked. Great initiative.

Time for casual conversation's yearly migration.
For Lego, !lego@piefed.social could probably be considered as the one, especially with the mod of the former community now a mod there
I know it's super sad lemm.ee closes down... but somehow all these changes seem like an exciting thing? I mean the community discusses and decides where to go, how to rename etc. It feels like a real opportunity to participate
I was happy to participate without having to find another instance for my communities
I will repeat my comment from yesterday.
the following communities have already an alternative on instances that I run
- !artporn@lemm.ee -> !artporn@sfw.community
- !football@lemm.ee -> !football@soccer.forum
- !keitrucks@lemm.ee -> !keitrucks@gearhead.town
- !monitors@lemm.ee -> !monitors@hardware.watch
All these instances have been running for close to two years and are part of the βtopic-specificβ network of servers that I set up to help during the migration.
1 of the 4 have any activity.
The communities were created, it doesn't mean that they have people using them. I'm just hoping now that the people will be forced to move out of lemm.ee that maybe this change can be done to these topic-specific instances.
Thank you for doing this
Middle East and North Africa

Mod deleted his account. I guess the spiritual successor to !mena@lemm.ee is !arabs@lemmy.dbzer0.com ?
Seems the most popular alternatives would be:
This is truly helpful! Upvote this for visibility!!
This is a very useful resource, thank you!!
Nice recap!
For !yurop@lemm.ee , there's kind of a (friendly) split
- !casualeurope@piefed.social for casual conversations between Europeans
- !YUROP@feddit.org for memes about European politics
!casualeurope@piefed.social
(The link on your post seems broken on voyager)
Edited.
Any chance of using the !-format for the links in the list? makes it easier to just visit and subscribe
Unfortunately, this will not work as [description](link)
format
for the links to a discussion, yes. But for a link to the community which has been decided, it's probably more user friendly to just do the exclamation mark style instead of a normal link
I want instance name to be exposed and exclamation mark style works like this for Lemmy and PieFed, but not for Mbin.
Mbin shows only a comm... magazine logo and its name, but instance URL is hidden.
Of course this is manageable as I could make a disclaimer for mbinauts... but not today.
ah, makes sense. didn't know that mbin hides the instance. Maybe as an additional link after the current one?
In any case: thanks for the work so far! Great service
We will deal with it, thanks for making this list β€
I took over !adultswim@lemm.ee after the creator disappeared but instead of remaking it I'm going to direct people to the unaffiliated !adultswim@adultswim.fan
Edit: wait, I'm misremembering, I was thinking of another community I took over.
@andromedusgalacticus@lemm.ee is still around sometimes. Sorry, you cool with this?
I've been around still, mostly just lurking for a couple of minutes at a time. With Lemm.ee shutting down, I have no problem with that. You can fully take over this community.
I'm falling asleep or I'd go grab a link but I believe !webrevival@lemm.ee has a discussion post now, I think I saw it a minute ago
And the community's only mod has been active over a month ago. Nothing happens yet.
Also, the animation link seems broken, here's another one: https://lemm.ee/post/65945910?scrollToComments=true
Thanks, repaired
Mods, here are the goodies that await you as a moderator of a PieFed community - https://peertube.wtf/w/ce995f49-5209-4f39-9d0f-8db36eebbaf6
Nice, any recs on where the users should move to?
If you are looking for a small and stable instance you should evaluate lemmy.today. It's hosted in the U.S. (Pacific North West) and has a high degree of federation.
