Good that they provided both the Emperor penguin and human penguin for scale.

Based on that description, that dude on the left is a tall fella.

[–] Tar_alcaran@sh.itjust.works 0 points 3 weeks ago

1m90ish is 7cm taller than the average Dutch male.

[–] Rozz@lemmy.sdf.org 0 points 3 weeks ago

Including large boots, hat, and hood. And also fairly tall.

Are you sure?

[–] kittenzrulz123@lemmy.blahaj.zone 0 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

I can go on a plane, the fact that they cant is a certified skill issue :3

[–] 0x0@lemmy.zip 0 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

They can sabotage helicopters when Mango Mussolini levies tariffs on them, it's a start.

[–] Agent641@lemmy.world 0 points 2 weeks ago

"They'll expect to find one of us in the wreckage, brother!"

[–] ZombieMantis@lemmy.world 0 points 2 weeks ago

They can also go in a plane, so it's not really a skill issue. They might not be allowed on board, but that's an issue of discrimination, not skill.

The real skill issue is how much better they can swim compared to you, or really any human.

Ok but was it a true penguin, or a false penguin like all the extant species today?

[–] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 0 points 3 weeks ago

All modern penguins are pseudo-penguins.

Penguins are the Linux mascot.

sudo sounds like "pseudo" (unless you are one of those people who pronounces it Sue-dew or sud-Oh, in which case, I don't like you).

Sudo penguin. Heh.

Waluigi's fursona.

[–] Monument@lemmy.sdf.org 0 points 3 weeks ago

I was planning to, but work has been hell today. I’ve barely had any time to shitpost.

[–] Jimmycakes@lemmy.world 0 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

I bet it tasted so good. Like pork or something

[–] Agent641@lemmy.world 0 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

Most seabirds taste like oily fish but with the texture of chicken.

[–] Jimmycakes@lemmy.world 0 points 2 weeks ago

Hot damn, fry that bad boy up and give me some tartar sauce

[–] Robust_Mirror@aussie.zone 0 points 2 weeks ago

That sounds perfect tbh. I love fish flavour but mostly don't like the texture.

[–] drunkpostdisaster@lemmy.world 0 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

I was really sad to learn this, penguins look tasty.

[–] v4ld1z@lemmy.zip 0 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Another one for you. there are no extant true penguins. What we see now are covergently evolved flightless birds. True penguins went extinct.

[–] v4ld1z@lemmy.zip 0 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_auk

The great auk (Pinguinus impennis), also known as the penguin or garefowl, is an extinct species of flightless alcid that first appeared around 400,000 years ago and became extinct in the mid-19th century. It was the only modern species in the genus Pinguinus. It was not closely related to the penguins of the Southern Hemisphere, which were named for their resemblance to this species.

Well now I want to talk to you about an extinct species of hairy-ass elephants. And they had hair all over, not just on their ass!

[–] InternetCitizen2@lemmy.world 0 points 2 weeks ago

Fun fact, they were bald everywhere else.

[–] NigelFrobisher@aussie.zone 0 points 2 weeks ago

I want this as my next album cover.

[–] LovableSidekick@lemmy.world 0 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Megapenguin Grandpa: Kids, did I ever tell you about when the Gigapenguins overthrew the Terapenguins?

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 0 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Megafauna is (are?) dope
