Do these people not understand what illegal immigrant meant? It means not a US citizen, not documented here, no VISA.

And yet the article closes with a farmer saying he’d vote for Trump again, despite the destruction of his labor force and the damage to his livelihood. The cultists are sick.

It's about being allowed to hate

That's all it is

[–] Fingolfinz@lemmy.world 19 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

It’s all they fucking want cos they hate themselves deep down. I treat them like shit since that’s what they put out.

[–] rustyfish@lemmy.world 37 points 1 week ago (3 children)

That’s why I feel zero empathy with them. After all these years I think I figured it out.

It’s a kink. A masochistic one.

The general conservative wants to get fucked, hard. Like break my choker through my ass kind of hard. That’s why they voted Trump twice into office. They acted as if they cared about political correctness or Mexicans or Trans people or whatever show they put up to be angry about nowadays. Everything a lie. It’s only about being daddy’s little slut. And like the common Twitter Weeb, they want to make their fuck fantasy everyone else’s problem too.

Don’t believe me? Then explain this article. I wait.

Your guilty conscience may force you to vote Democratic, but deep down inside, you secretly long for a cold-hearted Republican to lower taxes, brutalize criminals and rule you like a king!

A Simpsons joke from 31 years ago. The more things change the more they stay the same.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

That, plus deep-seated shame for being that way.

[–] Fingolfinz@lemmy.world 17 points 1 week ago

Yup, that’s why I treat magats like the scum they are and give them no leniency. Make them feel very fucking uncomfortable for them demanding our attention so badly that they decided to fuck everyone’s future over it. They wanted attention so let’s get them our unhinged fucking attention

Immigrant labor was a huge deal during Trump's first term, so if they didn't see this coming them there is no chance they will ever learn.

https://www.wisfarmer.com/story/news/state/2018/08/24/where-migrants-documented-undocumented-fit-into-wis-ag-workforce/1085101002/

Under the Trump administration, dairy farmers and their immigrant employees say they are facing increased hostility and fear crackdowns that could jeopardize their livelihoods. Meanwhile, there have been legislative efforts to expand guest worker programs to include the dairy industry as it grapples with a growing reliance on undocumented immigrants for its workforce.

"If we couldn't bring these seasonal workers over, we would have less horticultural production here," said Jette Nantel. "And, we'd be buying products from other places and would have no say on the labor or environmental conditions there."

They then voted for BOTH fewer immigrants to work their farms AND higher tariffs.

I wish it was a cult like Heaven's Gate

[–] NABDad@lemmy.world 61 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Everyone who complains that their undocumented immigrants have been abducted should be arrested and charged with hiring undocumented immigrants.

[–] DarylDutch@lemmy.world 30 points 1 week ago

Fucking preach. I fucking hate these people that say immigrants are taking jobs whilst simultaneously hiring nothing but immigrants due to costs and availability. Fuck them I hope they lose their farm.

[–] themeatbridge@lemmy.world 35 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Can we point out the obvious? Farmers rely on exploiting desperate migrant workers in violation of labor laws. Milk should cost more than it does, because it is perishable and labor intensive to produce.

It is not a good thing that ICE is sending people to death camps, nor is it ok that we are abandoning the rule of law to do it. But those are the victims. The farmers who have lower profits because they can no longer access illegally cheap labor are the real criminals.

[–] SomeoneSomewhere@lemmy.nz 15 points 1 week ago

They've been deporting those who are there legally too.

With an insufficient workforce, pay rates going up isn't necessarily enough to get you workers. Moving regions to get a new job isn't usually cheap or fast.

I don't know if the previous pay rates were illegally low (the US's definition of illegally low is itself low), but that doesn't necessarily mean that they couldn't & wouldn't pay ~$20-30/h if there were workers available.

Going from a labour-cheap world to a labour-expensive world also implies that people want to increase mechanisation and automation, and that's not cheap or fast either.

collapsed inline media

Go fuck yourselves, trump voting farmers.

[–] Tilgare@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

And he said he'd do it again. Wonder how long and hard he'll have to suffer before he changes his mind.

People going to be living in an Amish Paradise pretty soon!

At 4:30 in the morning I'm milkin' cows
Jebediah feeds the chickens and Jacob plows...fool
And I've been milkin' and plowin' so long that
Even Ezekiel thinks that my mind is gone

[–] ABluManOnLemmy@feddit.nl 27 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Why do we never see anything happen to the farmers who knowingly and illegally hire undocumented immigrants? Nothing ever happens to those who get rich from illegal labor practices (whether its wage theft or knowingly hiring those without the right to work)

[–] The_v@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

They get a big hefty fine. The fine is then reduced down to nothing after they claim they had no idea they were not legal to work in the country.

Next they reduce the amount of money they pay the other employees who they have no idea are not legal to work because of the fine they did not pay.

Since when has capitalism held capital holders accountable?

Its one of the inherent flaws of the system described nearly 200 years ago.

“It’s scaring the farming community,” Machia admitted. “We didn’t think they’d come for the people who help us milk cows.”
Even though Machia says he would still vote for Trump, the recent crackdown has prompted a deeper reckoning within his community — and perhaps, unexpectedly, a new sense of appreciation for those they once took for granted.

"I enjoy having leopards chew my face, and I beg for more."

[–] spankmonkey@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

Since the same farmers had issues with Trump screwing them over by targeting immigrants during his first term, we know that they would absolutely vote for him again because they love getting their face eaten.

[–] kn0wmad1c@programming.dev 3 points 1 week ago

Admitting they were wrong is more difficult than milking cows for these people

[–] deegeese@sopuli.xyz 24 points 1 week ago (1 children)

They use that old lie “locals don’t want to do this kind of work” failing to add “at the wages I want to pay”.

Their business depended on below-market wages so they’re upset locals demand a fair share.

[–] magnetosphere@fedia.io 10 points 1 week ago

It’s kinda like how gun nuts always leave out the “well regulated” bit when they talk about their constitutional right to bear arms. (Important note: sane, empathetic, rational gun owners are not “gun nuts”. It’s not my intent to tar all gun hobbyists with the same brush).

[–] FistingEnthusiast@lemmynsfw.com 18 points 1 week ago

They know, they just never think the consequences will apply to them

[–] magnetosphere@fedia.io 9 points 1 week ago

Do these people not understand what illegal immigrant meant?

I honestly don’t think they do… or they believed Daddy Trump’s lies about concentrating on violent criminals first.

[–] voodooattack@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I really wish people would add the word “Trump” to the title of every post about him so that my block filter picks it up

[–] Little8Lost@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

you could check if c/leapardsatemyface is generally too much trump & musk for you
and if yes block it

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)
[–] reddig33@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

Agreed. This isn’t a reputable source. Could all just be made up.

[–] phoenixarise@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

A farmer having to milk his own cows? Sacrilege.
