Lots of people got permabanned lately (including me) and to my knowledge appeals rarely if ever work. They're transitioning the platform to read-only it seems.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.
Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.
That's it.
Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.
Posts and comments which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.
Rule 6- Regarding META posts.
Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-Reddit posts using the [META] tag on your post title.
Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.
If you vocally harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.
Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.
Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.
Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.
Let everyone have their own content.
Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here. This includes using AI responses and summaries.
I got permabanned just a few days ago for saying, and I quote "I hope people who indulge in needless roadrage feel the karma one day", appealed it and overturned the ban. But just yesterday got permabanned again for responding to people giving grape threats, seems like they just wanna kill off the platform now. I used to love reddit but recently not so much anymore :(
I had a lot of friends who were on reddit-only man, genuine friends and 55k+ karma so lots of posts and shared experiences about my hobbies and everything, they don't even give second chances :/
If this is your first permaban, an appeal MIGHT work, no harm in trying, hope you get your account back if it works out :)
Meh, that place is going downhill quick anyway
Seems like so, but unfortunately I still liked it there, I had friends that I used to talk to regularly, and the teen subs were kinda silly but fun to interact with fellow teenagers from all across the world :(
There's a lot of speculation here that the moderation and appeals on Reddit have been transitioned into being primarily AI-driven. Basically, I have no idea what to expect as a response and I don't think anyone could say either.
I used to be fairly active on Reddit, now I just lurk once a week or two. Not only because of philosophical differences, but because Reddit moderation has become such a black box that I genuinely don't know what could be perceived as breaking the rules
Fr man, since april I've received 4 bans, 3 of which were completely taken out-of-context and did not even break any TOS, I could only overturn 1 of those though. The 4th one did kinda break TOS (just cussing, no threats from my side), but I haven't even received a response yet and the ban message said that the action was taken with the help of automation. Basically, you seem to be spot-on. Reddit has messed up royally in the past few weeks, hope to see lemmy grow bigger :3
I got permabanned a couple of days ago. I saw a post where a girl was moaning about a woman she worked with taking the mickey out of her whenever she used a big/obscure word. The example she gave was 'franchise.' So everyone was telling her their favourite obscure words to drop onto conversation. I suggested that she should threaten to 'defenestrate' her colleague cos that is probably my favourite word.
Got a warning immediately that I had threatened to physically harm someone. Laughed. Went to bed. Woke up the next day to find I'd been banned
Lost several years of karma but I'm buggered if I'm going crawling to them to get my account back.
Fr bro, well I'm not gonna evade the ban but I kinda liked it on reddit ngl I had friends and stuff cuz I socialized with people on the local teen subs :/
Welcome to Lemmy! Hope you like it here.
How has your first day been? Any trouble finding your way around?
It took me a while to get my head round it, but it's fine thanks. Seems much quieter than Reddit tho
Good luck, wish I could help
Thank you🙏
