I've been on Lemmy for ~3 Months and it's nice but picking a instance, figuring out which web UI works for me, figuring out which Mobile App works for met etc. was a lot, and most people would have given up.

I've been using PieFed for the last few days, and wow I like it so much more, it solved so many of the UX issues that Lemmy has.

These features make a BIG impact, most of the common things people on Reddit complain about when you promote Lemmy isn't a issue on PieFed.

My favourite feature is de-duplication, on PieFed if I view eg. this post https://piefed.social/post/749818#comment_6102866

It combines/aggregates it with cross-posts/reposts

So I can see it in one place, and see all the comments in one place.

Have you tried out PieFed? What are your thoughts?

I love the deduplication feature on piefed. It's great

I also love that it has custom multi-comm feeds like subreddits. I still haven't made one for myself though, since the default topics — multi-comm feeds as well — already works quite well.

Those two, combined with their onboarding process, I think makes it the better "platform" to get new users IMO

It helps with having a handholding experience to jumpstart a new user, and not make it as "dead" looking or having to suffer All with American politics posts

I tried Lemmy way back when the APIcalypse happened but it never stuck.

I tried again earlier this year because of something happening again at reddit and decide to also try mbin because of built in support for microblogs. Turns out I still don't care about microblogs if everyone that I follow on X isn't here. It's also "just another Lemmy" but with microblog support in my short term using it

Them I decided to finally try piefed. Ever since I created this account it's been my main and never accessed my LW, lemmyzip, fedia and kbinearth accounts again lol

What I think can help with a unique problem of the Fediverse—accessing content from other instances via your home piefed instance—being built in to piefed somehow instead of relying on browser extensions that still doesn't support non Lemmy clients and instances
