Can someone explain how these symbols are supposed to represent "MS-13"? I'm trying, but I can't get further than "M is for Marijuana"... S is for Smile? 1 is for Cross?? 3 is for Skull??? What in the numerology is going on...

No one can explain it because it's nonsense. Back before trump was a thing, I saw a documentary on MS-13 - their tattoos were not subtle or coded. Many members had it literally written across their face or chest.

Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) is a criminal ("terrorist", now) organization out of California. It was initially made up of Salvadoran teenagers that escaped the country during civil war back in the 80s, as they banded together forming street gangs to fight and protect themselves from the larger LA gangs that would extort migrants. Over time the gang evolved into a full criminal organization while expanding to activities like international trafficking, kidnapping and murder.
