Notably the Canadian countermeasure will have no tariffs on Mexican auto products and none on car parts from US or Mexico, unlike the US side tariffs.

I think tariffing auto parts would end up punishing people who already have an American car and need to repair it.

You'd think. But a lot of "import" brands manufacture in North America....well, for the vehicles that are for the domestic market anyway. Won't effect boy racer and his Skyline....

US tariffs on parts start on May 3.
