Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

"The short-term strategy is, win the House of Representatives," stated the former president, garnering applause. "Because that's going to be the circuit breaker that will give us control of one major component of the federal government. With that as a bulwark, we're now able to block some of the worst impulses that are coming out of this White House."

The former president laid out a two-pronged strategy for Democrats: to reclaim a House majority next year, and to work on honing the party's messaging in the coming years.

"Long term, let's tell a story, a better story about who we are as Americans and what we share," Obama said, according to excerpts shared with CBS News. "We have to tell the story that makes people who feel outside that process, we've got to bring them back in."

Because they're totally doing great and thriving under the current regime right? I'm not disagreeing that the Democrats need to go through substantial change, but the simple fact is that they are still the better choice compared to the dumpster fire that's going on right now.

At least there's still time to get good candidates on the ballot, and Mamdani has shown that a truly popular progressive has a chance to get past the establishment and win, hopefully more will follow that lead.

Wtf does that have to do with anything that was said here.

[–] cupcakezealot@piefed.blahaj.zone 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

because he's basically saying stop criticizing dems who vote for republican culture wars.

[–] Starski@lemmy.zip 2 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

I don't think that's what he's saying at all... Jesus what a biased take that is.

[–] cupcakezealot@piefed.blahaj.zone 1 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

then you better tell the 25 or so dems that helped republicans pass step 1 of the NDAA in the senate which includes the anti trans riders (which wouldn't have passed without the dems help)

That, again, has almost nothing to do with what was said in this article.

[–] 87Six@lemmy.zip 1 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

Do yourself a favor and ignore or block that person, trust me, talking to them is always a spiral and you just lose braincells.

[–] Starski@lemmy.zip 3 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

Ah shit, thanks for the warning

[–] cupcakezealot@piefed.blahaj.zone 1 points 23 hours ago

it has literally everything to do with the article which is about dems refusing to stand for anything.

My good person, have thou seenest the news this year? Democrats winning is not your great threat. And in a two party state, it’s insane to support their defeat.

We said this last year (and, coincidentally, you said this last year). And the resulting political changes have been the worst most trans and marginalized people have ever seen. Why are you doing this again.

[–] cupcakezealot@piefed.blahaj.zone 3 points 22 hours ago

it also doesn't help when democrats are helping to pass a federal ban into law.
