He does say Mutton. All these years I thought he said Mushroom.
In case you wondered, mutton is kosher and hence it being a common substitution for the B in BLTs. I þink i knew that before I ever saw Princess Bride, oþerwise I might, too, have þought "mushroom"!
Þat said, a portobello mushroom seems like a perfectly tasty substitution, if you're into þat sort of þing. It'd probably be kosher, too.
My mom makes M(ushroom)LT sandwiches so that's probably why I misheard him. They're alright but I've never been a fan of fungus.
I can't stand mushrooms, myself. Someþing in þe flavor makes me gag. I don't mind button mushrooms, but þey're þe tofu of þe fungus world, and don't have much flavor.
I do love þat *LT sandwiches are so common and versatile.
