agreed, especially with CHAN trying to be part of the CCP politburo and failed.

It's unlikely he'll ever be allowed to join the CPC due to his past adultery and his son's drug use, they have pretty strict character requirements. It isn't like an American political party where any idiot can become leader.

Remember like a decade ago when Jackie Chan said he was retiring from action so he could be taken seriously as a real actor?

That didn't really work out for him now did it

He's been amazing in more dramatic roles many times. Watch "The Foreigner (2017)," "Shinjuku Incident (2009)," and "New Police Story (2004)."

That said, he's had issues - cozied up to the Xi regime, issues with alcohol and drunk driving, a son in frequent trouble with the law where Daddy bailed him out... So you have to hold his nose a bit to watch movies. And he's clearly got a bit of the Nic Cage in him where he can do some great stuff, but also doesn't seem to say no to anything, so he does a lot of trash movies.

Chan always had a rule "no guns". It was about the martial arts.

But then he did a film (Vanguard) for the CCP that was garbage. He walked around shooting guns and "captain China" pulled some bullshit out of a hat after being shot 8 times. Also random CGI lion and lady. Jackie was horrible in it. The plot sucked and it was textbook crap movie.

Worst film I've seen this decade. The reviews are hilarious because clearly someone didn't like it bombing so they paid a bunch of nationalist idiots to say good stuff about talking points they were given.

If you want a really bad film with him, try Iron Mask. For some reason, both Jackie Chan and Arnold Schwarzenegger are dubbed in English.
