the locals don’t want you there, the transplant white business owners and their pocketed politicians do
Yeah the locals would rather go back to living in hots because they can't afford anything else because there's no employment. When tourism is the largest sector of the economy, it's also the largest employer. Telling people that they don't want the tourists he's also saying that they don't want jobs.
