I hate to be that guy, but you've been able to summon taxis via phone pretty much for as long as either have existed.

But I get what you mean, the app is the game-changer. I've had dispatch schedule a taxi for me and then they just didn't show up. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ No way to track or check the progress...

Plus, with the app, there’s transparent up front pricing.

Good luck getting that from an NYC cab.

And, depending on the location, it works in other states/countries as well.

Right, so the difference is that they built a system that actually provides service.
