You're literally defending a trillion dollar corporation's anti-competitive behaviour, in a field that you have no expertise in.
On top of the fact that Linux is a more open platform than windows. So great job making a cohesive argument.
Apple's behaviour has nothing to do with security and everything to do with preventing third party competition.
I work in Cybersecurity compliance but sure I have no idea about any of this. Random guy in Buyeuropean is the expert.
I am aware Linux is more open but guess who the biggest contributors to Linux are? Massive private corporations. Without their contributions Linux would be more or less in the same level of obscurity as BSDs.
Also, I never argued that Appleโs walled garden are what make their devices more secure, you strawmanned me into that. I know the walled garden is however a factor, even if just by stopping idiots from installing malware on their devices.
Welcome to the imaginary world of oversimplifications where everything is black and white. I think you didnโt spend more than two seconds thinking about what youโre trying to argue.
On the one hand youโre fond of open source code (which I also am) because you know that open code allows us to find vulnerabilities faster. On the other you fail to see that when the code isnโt open, bad actors are less likely to find and exploit those vulnerabilities. It goes both ways because news flash, security by obscurity is a thing.
