Isn't that usually inverted though? Where the 1 is generally the one with extreme views and the 20 are deliberately picked to be inarticulate and oafish, thus promoting the extreme view? Admittedly it's likely impossible to find a MAGAt that isn't inarticulate and oafish.
From what I gather, they will try to do whatever they can to just ramp up the drama and conflict, whether it's bringing in some outrageous character who participates in bad faith like Jordan Peterson, or if it means slipping a benjie to someone to play up being a crazy freak.
Andrew Callaghan said that when he went on "against" 20 conspiracy theorists, the production crew kept telling him that he needed to push back harder, but he didn't play by their rules and ended up having one of the better episodes, where he gave people a chance to be heard and listened and asked questions and it was very civil and friendly. Unfortunately, that's not what gets the most views though, so that kind of thing is discouraged.
