Yes, the "be in your best behavior and don't cause too much trouble" protest has definitely marked a middle point in their fascist actions.
And you'd be surprised https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/trump-posts-ai-video-dumping-no-kings-protesters-rcna238521
Bro went out of his way to respond meaning it had some impact.
I'm not going to begrudge the people who think resistance needs to be more kinetic, but that's not who I am. I'm fucking 52 years old and have never been a fighter. I barely know how to punch properly, and while I can shoot a gun, I've never shot a gun while being shot at, and likely would be as much a danger to my side as to the other side. I suspect a whole lot of that 2/3rds we're dismissing in the polling is like me. The protests bring us out. Civil war will have us hiding or fleeing.
And like others have said. Trump was so annoyed by our presence he generated AI slop. We live rent free in his head.
There's a lot of middle ground between "don't get in the way and make sure you clean up when you're done" and "shoot at people while being shot at."
Trump is going to have his daily whining session about something, him crying about Jimmie Kimmel doesn't mean Jimmie Kimmel is going to prevent him from being a fascist.
Yep, no reason to infight over protest strategies; we should be doing all of them, all at once. The Overton Window works both ways, like how the threat represented by the Deacon's for Defense made the thought of negotiating with MLK seem much more appetizing.
If a civil war, or even just a general strike, does happen, the people on the frontlines will still need people like you for support roles.
