What if America is bad though.
The issue isn't that the premise is false, it's that it's a non sequitur.

OK, how about this. America is worse.
In some sense, the current America is. It has an authoritarian regime as well, but lacks the renewable energy sources, passenger train infrastructure, and forward-thinking political will in general. Not that I'd want to live in either country, though.
