Rules:
1. Be civil
Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.
2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.
Obvious right or left wing sources will be removed at the mods discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted seperately but not to the post body.
3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.
Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.
4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source.
Posts which titles don’t match the source won’t be removed, but the autoMod will notify you, and if your title misrepresents the original article, the post will be deleted. If the site changed their headline, the bot might still contact you, just ignore it, we won’t delete your post.
5. Only recent news is allowed.
Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.
6. All posts must be news articles.
No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials or celebrity gossip is allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis.
7. No duplicate posts.
If a source you used was already posted by someone else, the autoMod will leave a message. Please remove your post if the autoMod is correct. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners.
The auto mod will contact you if a link shortener is detected, please delete your post if they are right.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

I'm Canadian, sort your own problems out. Yes, call me a child because I didn't elect one into the highest office of my country. The lessons are there for anyone to see, you just can't be bothered to get off your couch or get out of your comfort zone until there is no comfort zone to go to. Rise up!
I vote, I’ve been protesting, I agree on a general strike, I try talking to republicans, I volunteer in my community, I increasingly boycott big corps, I work a job caring for my community, I travel to help educate myself on the rest of the world.

I’m tired of people bitching that we aren’t doing enough, while giving no advice on what we could be doing. It’s just not helpful for anyone and terribly negative, period.
Yes, everyone can be mad that America sucks, but it’s unreasonable being nasty to people who hate all of this, did nothing to deserve it, and are actively trying to make a positive difference.

Folks who are not members of a privileged ruling class have no real say about what their leadership does with the military regardless of the illusion of choice they're given on election day. The idea that average, working class Americans are responsible for national guard troop deployments in US cities for stated political purposes can only come from a privileged person who has the kind of power and control to do anything to affect the situation. I know that's not me.
If anyone wants a suggestion for something they can personally do to help America's national situation, go to the food bank and move boxes around, and if you've got enough money to do it, go to the local megamart and buy all the clearance and donate it. Food stamps are gone starting Monday.
If we gave you the advice you need, we'd be flagged for inciting violence. That's what is needed. Actual push back. Organize, deploy, resist. There is your advice. It's gonna hurt, but so does starving to death. So does forced labour. Join forces now, before it's too late. We ain't coming to save you "bro".

You didn’t suggest this before, because you know it’s not a viable option. Tell me, would you be taking up arms if this was your country? At what point do you decide to cross that line and take another’s life? We aren’t soldiers, you would very quickly be shot before you made any real difference, and then watch how fast your party is really labeled a terrorist organization.
Yup, and it's going to have to happen too, so might as well get to it, eh. There is nothing gonna save you except yourselves, and it needs to get worse before anyone will get off their asses to make it better again. It's coming. There won't be another election at this point. There will be martial law before too long, there are already ICE and National Guard in cities for zero reason, so it's only a matter of time. Why would I help you who willingly won't help themselves?
I didn't suggest it because it is the ONLY viable option. The courts won't save you, politicians won't save you, the police will certainly not save you and the military has already been compromised and also, likely won't save you.
What are your options? Starve and die or rise up and fight together. You outnumber them significantly, and I doubt any institution outside of the highest office of politics has any appetite for mass murder of their fellow citizens. Unfortunately, it's going to get to that point before any tables get turned. Welcome to the new world order.
The best part is you think it's all about you. A statement is made, and y'all take it personally. I appreciate you are doing 'something' but it's not working. An American calling anyone a shitty neighbour right now is just a classic "good one". Stop threating the sovereignty of my nation and maybe I'll show a little more sympathy.

The American people elected a fascist dictator that is threatening the sovereignty of my nation and fucking up established trade agreements and causing unnecessary harm and suffering, because he feels like it.
