Sure thing. Make election day a federal holiday and allow for mail in ballots.
Making Election Day a federal holiday makes so much sense. This is one example of the U.S. being ran by clown the entire time.
Honestly I never understood the push for this. Maybe it's because I grew up around people who never had federal holidays off. Tons of people still need to work on federal holidays. What makes way more sense to me would be not having a single "Election Day." Make it Election Week, everywhere, all the time.
Yeah there's no point. Just make all elections mail-in, then people can vote at their convenience.
That’s also a good idea. However, election week equals more workers. Not necessarily a bad thing, just something to consider.
Overall options to consider:
All of the above.
Colorado has early voting, mail-in voting, and places to drop off your filled-out ballot.
It's absolutely beautiful.
If you want to stand in-line the day of, you can do that, too. I've done that a few times, many years ago, and I think my longest wait was maybe 15 minutes, but that was out in the burbs, too.
california is the same, plus some people have volunteered thier resident or business as a voting place. Red states banned all these.`
In Canada, your employer must give you 5 hours to go vote on election day. So in most cases, you either start work after 12pm or finish before 4pm. They could also give you 5 hours mid-day, but that's just tedious and not worth the trouble in most cases.

Our patchwork of state laws makes it a clusterfuck. Also, even if employees should have protected time, it doesn't prevent a shitty boss from using it as a pretext to fire you for something else that isn't protected.
Nobody does this, in my experience.
I've never had an employer that didn't, and I don't know anyone who has.
Its one of the oversites in the constitution in my opinion. It should have stated that all federal elections are federal holidays and congress is empowered to determine additional ones or something like that.
And even then. No.
