I will judge the fuck out of huge age gaps all I want. I am almost fifty years old and I have never seen a healthy relationship, just transactional ones, with this type of gap.
Almost always men with privilege that have shit personalities getting with girls they can control.
I'm 37 and I volunteer with kids around 5/6yo. The idea of marrying and reproducing with one of them when I'm 60 is fucking gross.
I had a relationship with a girl 13 years younger. I didn't find her, she found me. We had 6 years together when I broke up, she begged me not to leave. While we were together we were completely happy, no abuse, and you know, she was an adult who is allowed to make her own fucking decisions without Karen's like you judging her for what SHE wants
You were the older and more mature (actually, maybe not) person. You could have told her no and you ended up dumping her anyways. You have now been correctly judged.

I am not against extreme age gaps by law or anything. I just judge the fuck out of them because, as I have stated, they are not generally healthy relationships. Something you apparently discovered yourself.
I would not choose it for my life and I would council people against it, which I have done many times.
One of the things I love about this new generation of women is they are less likely to put up with male harassment. I just saw a thirty year old man approach a group of young teens in the mall. The girls immediately shut him down and said he was creepy for talking with them.
Men in the US have been abusing and using women for a long time now. Using unhealthy power imbalances like age and money to manipulate women. Having four daughters, I am acutely aware of this.
Your story was rather flippant exposing your disgust and blame of women. You have some internalized misogyny going on there hence why I called you out.
I will have you know that I marched on the capital of Washington State and secured the right for gay marriage. Have you talked to your representatives personally about your feelings and lobbied them to give rights to marginalized people.

i had a co-worker, in a former job that she was dating someone 17years her senior, she was only 28-29 at the time. the mom of course was pissed, because she said he was almost as old as she is. i thought it was wierd too, but being her friend at the time, she also had things going at home too, asian family.(i felt she would be better off moving out and living witht he 40+ something, than with her control freak mom.
I could see her wanting to escape a situation like that. Her mom had a point though. I wouldn't date someone who was my child's age, but that is just me.
Its not a binary choice though, given there are millions of partner options out there for a 28yo lady. Its not just option a) 46 year old man, option b) stay at crappy home situation. Both situations can be crap at once, sounds like she just went from one power imbalance to another.
