Want to hit the US where it hurts? Stop buying US branded cars. They’re shuttering their plant here and putting many people out of work.

Buy Toyota and Honda’s that are made here in Ontario, or buy other imports from Europe and Asia.

If Canadians do what we did with travel, but apply it to US cars, they’ll be in a world of hurt.

You can end the sentence at “Stop buying US”.

Yes right, but most people might not know that other non U.S. branded cars are also made in the U.S.

So when you go to the dealership, ask which cars are produced locally here in Canada. If none, ask which cars are not made in America.

Pick the either locally built car or the true imported car not manufactured on US soil.

Right. I meant we need to stop buying anything American. That’s what’s going to hurt. Definitely vehicles as they are big ticket items. However, lots of small repeat items are going to hit them too (think groceries, toiletries etc).

No car is made in Canada with Canadian parts, that's not how it works.

(And whiskey/spirits, but you guys have already done a great job there)

Seriously, you’re 100% right. The more you fine folks of the north stop buying our shit, the more pain you’ll inflict. And our corpos need pain inflicted. If I could suggest, avoiding products from our red states would mean even more than blue states, but that’s a minor distinction at this point.

I wish it was easier for you and the EU to move away from big tech, because that would really start getting attention more than anything else.

Yeah big tech is by faaar the most important thing to boycott, but its also the hardest and least realistic for the average person to stop using.

Toyotas and Hondas are assembled in Ontario, with a lot of US made parts, but even Toyota and Honda are backing down on CDN production because we only assembled cars here for the US market.
