Rules:
1. Be civil

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.
Obvious right or left wing sources will be removed at the mods discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted seperately but not to the post body.
3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.
Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.
4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source.
Posts which titles don’t match the source won’t be removed, but the autoMod will notify you, and if your title misrepresents the original article, the post will be deleted. If the site changed their headline, the bot might still contact you, just ignore it, we won’t delete your post.
5. Only recent news is allowed.
Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.
6. All posts must be news articles.
No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials or celebrity gossip is allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis.
7. No duplicate posts.
If a source you used was already posted by someone else, the autoMod will leave a message. Please remove your post if the autoMod is correct. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners.
The auto mod will contact you if a link shortener is detected, please delete your post if they are right.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Americans are like hyenas are portrayed in Disney movies.
If you act like a victim, they will come after you. Fighting bigots in the street, leaving them bloody and broken, is good PR.
The fascist propaganda, in absence of real trans people, will shape ideas of what a trans person is. Hiding let's them control the narrative.
And some trans people simply do not have the option to fucking hide if you respond without acknowledging this and telling me what those people should do, i'm just gonna block you without responding. If you say we just need to throw them under the bus, unless you're posting this from your sniper's nest while hunting fascists, perhaps you too should be under that bus.
I can't tell you what the trans people without an option to hide should do. I'm not a full trans advocate. I believe they should be treated like any other human, but I'm one of those people I mentioned that your plight isn't even on my radar. I'm supporting a chronically ill spouse, so that's my focus.
But my focus is that of many other Americans. You're not even on our radar.
The trans people who can't leave need to do whatever the fuck they can to blend in. Disappear from all social media, especially Lemmy since it's anti-privacy.
Also, fuck you for daring to suggest that my point is to throw trans people under the bus. You're the one advocating that trans people put themselves in harms way for absolutely no reason.
I'm suggesting that trans people disconnect and construct their own safety networks to stay safe. You're suggesting that trans people buy guns and shoot federal agents who will use that as an excuse to ramp up their extermination plan.
You clearly don't grasp the gravity of the situation if you think that the current political atmosphere is treating trans people like blacks or gays before then.
But your rhetoric is basically saying that Jews in Nazi Germany didn't fight hard enough.
Most trans people can't go anywhere. Very very few have that option. Many literally cannot blend in. Some trans people are really obviously trans. Some transphobes will just get aggressive based on a single trait like height, and often go after cis women who are more that than average, as well as trans ones.
Those people are in harms way. They have been in harms way. They unfortunately will continue to be in harm's way for the foreseeable future. They cannot hide. It's not a thing. That's not a serious suggestion unless you're offering your attic.
