- Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
- Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). I can't think of any recent cases besides the guy that shot Steve Scalise. Do they have a list of cases they're going off, because 67% seems low.
They do, but they're almost all "eco-terrorism" related, which includes property damage as "violent". So basically, every time an environmentalist sabotages logging or mining equipment, it goes on the same list as folks that murder politicians, commit mass shootings, or blow up government buildings.
I mean, knowing that, I'm a little disappointed that eco terrorism only accounts for less than 33% of all "violent" crime.
Do or do not young padewan, inside you the force is
That’s an interesting point you raise. Could you point me to where I could read a bit more about how those stats are collected? Happy to Google but you seem in the know so figured I’d ask for directions.
You know what's a little concerning? Someone asked me to provide links to the research just a few months ago, and I had no problem googling several searchable databases that listed individual events along with the charges against the perpetrators. They were all right at the top of the list. I just tried to find them again, and they're not coming up in my search, at all. Now I wish I'd saved the links somewhere.
I'm not much into conspiracy theories, but this seems a bit fishy to me. I'll keep looking, and get back to you.
Probably counting protests as violence...
Lol, I don't think they're counting anything
Well, the ADL reached a conclusion of 75%. Obviously, it somewhat depends on methodology and chosen metrics.
The ADL has no credibility though. They count saying 'free Palestine' as an anti-Semitic attack, even when a Jew says it.
You'll perhaps recall that the ADL wasn't the source I originally used.
They were literally responding to you saying, "Well, the ADL reached a conclusion of 75%." so they can be forgiven for idk... mentioning the ADL.
