lol paltry stat bonuses is not progression system. Theres a reason they had to overhaul it…it was hated because it wasn’t a progression system, calling it an rpg is an insult to actual rpgs.
You seem to be moving goalposts
No, people seem to be watering down what it means for a game to be an RPG.
Just because a game gives you few bonuses as an essentially half assed system to make it seem like an rpg, doesn’t make it an rpg. A progression system in an RPG is deep, has layers, provides skills and makes your character a different version of what it was at the start.
CyperPunk in now way at launch met this mark with 2.5% dmg, 2% fire rate, etc. where’s the unlocking smgs, unlocking scopes, stuff like that.
Dont misconstrue what it means for an rpg to be an rpg because your feelings are hurt about your “goty” for what it actually means to have a progression system.
Also it's not my goty, defining an rpg by how good the skill tree is, is just silly. The roleplaying part of rpg is for me the defining feature.
Souls games are a lot less rpg than cyberpunk.
