Um......this is really old news.
I want to say Colbert and the like talked about this the week before CBS cancelled the late show.
You are partly right. Only content was reported before, actual letter was not.
What's the difference between them showing this on tv weeks ago, and what's happened today?
This is the first time we saw Trump's actual drawing and it is much more disgusting than everyone imagined.
But.....it's not though. I saw that same drawing weeks ago. Colbert even made the joke that the womans pubic hair is made up of trumps signature. Then he made some joke about how all official government documents now have a womans bush in the signature field.
You are thinking of people's guess from a description of the letter, which was a much more adult figure. You have not seen this before today
No, they showed this exact image, and read the letter word for word. The next night they even had quotes from trump saying "I don't draw, I wish I could draw, but I don't draw".
Then they cut to a 2005 clip of him promoting the apprentice, and he draws a womans figure that was sitting on his lap. The 2005 drawing looked erily similar to the one you're seeing here, and the joke was "You say you couldn't draw THIS but here you are on video in 2005 doing exactly the same thing."
Then he tried claiming thats not his signature. So they pulled his signature from publically available documents that he signed in his first term. Same signature.
You can't locate it but you're sure it was the exact image?
Then why does this say it was just released on Monday? I'm not sure what was shown on Colbert. Maybe his own depiction?

The person you're replying to is very confused. I saw that Colbert episode. At the time, the image of the letter had not been released. Colbert showed some of Trump's other drawings he made in the past and added his signature to one drawing of the NYC skyline to depict a penis. It was just a joke for the bit.
I don't watch Colbert, but I swear I saw that picture weeks ago as well. I did find this which describes the letter: https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2025-07-17/trump-denies-sending-epstein-lewd-message-drawing (I can't see the WSJ article due to a paywall)
I'm racking my brain to remember where I had seen it
