The energy executives called for a simplification of regulation and a commitment to firm deadlines for project approvals.

They also want an elimination of the federal government's cap on emissions, the repeal of the federal carbon levy on large emitters and loan guarantees to help Indigenous co-investment opportunities.

The problem is the NIMBYISM and the financiers. One doesn't want them near them, and the others want them in the USA where they have retrofitted 10 refineries for our oil.

Every province should have refineries and oil shipped from coast to coast to coast, and Nat Gas. Use the royalty money to better Canada as Norway does for its citizens and then start using the money to wean ourselves off petroleum.

Yes NIMBYISM of the rich. They want all the profit, don't care about destroying the environment for profit, don't care about polluting the air, the water, the soil through their fossil fuels extraction, as long as we don't ruin their views. Tax the rich.
