if they hadn’t had to fight in WW2

But that's not what he is saying. You are saying it like if Germany didn't start WW2, The Farage adviser is saying it like if they had just let Hitler win.

HUGE difference. And if you claim what the adviser is saying is not crazy, what would you think it would look like if Hitler had won?
Fascism throughout Europe, which could spread to UK and USA, like English and American values spread to Europe because they won.

I know fascism is spreading in USA now anyway, but imagine how bad it would be if the Nazis had won!

Oh, yeah, having the Nazis win would have been a disaster.

Losing the war was the best thing that ever happened to Germany.

I absolutely agree here from Denmark, Germany has been an excellent friend ally and partner for more than half a century now. 👍 😃

From his corner of politics, they think that would have been better. They just can't say it directly or they would show themselves for what they are to their supporters, many of whom can't see it yet.

You are probably right, that may be what they actually wished had happened.

Fascism is touching nearly every country right now. Slowly, all of Europe will fall to fascism.

Fascism has been on the rise, but I doubt it will take over in the traditional western Europe. It's mostly Poland, Hungary and Slovakia.
AfD in Germany is mostly popular in the old East Germany part, and will never become big enough to take power.
Democracies in Western Europe are strong enough to contain it, they may get some influence, but if they do, they are very likely to fade away again.

UK and USA are dysfunctional 2 party democracies, which makes the problem much more serious, because people are pissed their democracies don't represent the people.

You’re going to be very surprised how well fascism does in Western Europe. It always starts simple, with immigration. Blaming them for the economy, etc. Then slowly the minorities are blamed and stripped of their rights. There’s often a moral majority too, so anyone not [whatever religion] is bad.

If you hear things like, “I’m sick of hearing the making everything about their ” then you know the slope is getting slippery.
