I just don't get the incongruity of the Trump admin. In pretty much every other area they are "show me the money".
big tech AI: whatever you guys want!
crypto: whatever you guys want!
big banks: whatever you guys want!
big oil: whatever you guys want!
big pharma vaccines: No, this is where we must draw the line!
the only constant is "maximum damage".
Suddenly wishing big pharma were better friends with and getting bigger handouts from the admin WHATTT is this world
The problem is that biotech and pharma are much more directly involved in and constrained by actual science and data, which the orangeboi regime is highly allergic to.
There's more money to be made selling meds to sick people than preventing people getting sick.
But even then it makes no sense! The rich aren’t immune to disease… I don’t even know who is meant to make money on this shit
Right but the rich will still have real doctors with real medicine on call (or they can just travel to a country with real medicine).
When Mao Zedong unified thousands of years of quackery and superstition into "Traditional Chinese Medicine" to placate the masses need for healthcare, he kept real doctors on hand, because he knew it was all bunk.
Rfk jr was running as an independent with about 10% of the votes.
Trump bragged about how he fast tracked the COVID vaccine during his first administration.
