If genocide isn't a red line for you then you don't have red lines. You will literally vote for rounding up trans people and gassing them as long as the opposing candidate wants to torture them before execution because "it's the lesser evil"
So you voted against every Dem candidate since 1960? And every GOP candidate too, of course. And most of the third party candidates, even.
Cruelty to trans folk, may I remind you, was the case for the past 200 years of Western democracy; yet abstaining to vote against chattel slavery of Black folk on the issue of trans rights would have, likewise, been un-fucking-acceptable.
Voting takes a day, at most, to avert very real and extensive harm to multiple marginalized demographics. It does not prevent your revolution. And, in fact, having even mildly sympathetic or neutral agents, even if they're shitlibs, in power is far more conducive to revolutions than stacking all institutions of power with fascists who will do anything to crush you.
Do you have any red lines? Will you vote for a candidate that wants to murder your mom as long as the other candidate wants to murder both your parents?

That would necessary, yes. Voting doesn't preclude working against the fucked system. It means if your plans to alter or overthrow the fucked system don't go through in time, you get the less bad option of the choices presented.
Voting takes a few moments of your time, not a lifetime dedication to the grind. Voting is a strategic maneuver, not a love letter.

I mean, if you thought that the general election was the only political action of note in a democracy, that would be true? But uh, those of us who participate in broader society, or even just bother to fucking show up to the primaries, know that by the time of the general election, much of the work to change positions is already finished, and all that's actually left is the final clash between the coalitions which have been cobbled together by activists.

Primaries did happen in 2024, which is how the whole 'uncommitted' movement came about. The issue is that no one of substance ran because Biden was still seen as the best shot at defeating Trump - an idea in no small part peddled by Biden, mind you.
No one wanted to vote for Magic Crystal Lady, and Cenk attempting to run despite being a naturalized citizen was a farce.
