There is zero reason for comments to be open on music videos on YouTube. I hate when it tries to show me that rubbish.

Edit: ooh, unpopular opinion! Well, I stand by it, they might as well be a write-only medium as far as I'm concerned - perhaps the comment authors have a nice experience sharing but I'll be damned if I have the slightest interest in what they have to say.

I felt the same when they added the comments feature to YouTube music. I came around though, personally. It's nice to see comments from people enjoying the same music and talking about their favourite tracks.

I've literally never looked at the comments on YouTube music, it's a feature I have absolutely no interest in. I also don't care how many other people have liked a given song.

It's absolutely baffling to me why YouTube thought the social media features were something anyone wanted.

Well, probably because there are people that do want it. It's fine that you don't and it's relatively unobtrusive to ignore it, so your needs are catered for as well.

It’s absolutely baffling to me why YouTube thought the social media features were something anyone wanted.

Why are people using this feature that clearly no-one wants?
