Fucking what
Mamdani is not going to win without Dem moderates, because Dem moderates still make up a good deal of the party. Luckily, Dem moderates are generally inclined to vote for the party candidate regardless of their preference for a less radical candidate, just like progressives are generally inclined to vote for moderate party candidates regardless of their preference for a more radical candidate. Unless serial sexual harasser Cuomo rockets ahead in the polls, Mamdani's victory as a democratic socialist and progressive will happen because we came together after the primary as anti-Republican and anti-vote splitter.
Even if that were true, how the FUCK does that justify not engaging in harm reduction? "Dem moderates don't like socialists, therefore, let Alligator Auschwitz be the new path forward"?
As a New Yorker…who gives a fuck?
You do understand that “DNC support” just means advertising money, right?
Our nation needs to stop blaming Big Lettuce for their lack of salad ads while they get fat on McDonald’s every day. Stop rewarding the candidates with the financial means to find you in your living room and research the candidates on your ballot.
Mamdani is currently courting endorsements from top Dem players, many of whom have spoken positively of Mamdani but refrained from an explicit endorsement at this time. Their failure to immediately jump into endorsing a clearly popular candidate who won the primaries is damning on a personal level, but far from "The DNC is refusing to compromise!" at this juncture.
Also, see the two points of the edit.
