Lemmy is the only federated service I actually enjoy using. Just missing being able to block an entire @something instead of having to block every single community of it

and no I do not want to "choose another host that does block it", it should be a user choice.

You mean an instance block? You can do that, but it's more of an instance "mute"

But I hear Piefed has real proper blocking of instances

How does that work? I just don't want to get the major nsfw and reddit reposting stuff in my feed

If you use an app it may or may not handle it properly or at all, but from the website you should be able to go-to feddit.nl/settings and the block tab and then you'll have the ability to block users, comms or whole instances from there

I say it's more of a mute because those users can still interact with your posts/comments (up/down vote, comment on) you just won't see it. It's been a highly discussed problem

Ohh like that, yeah I don't care as long as I don't see them really. Never use block features anyways, mute is enough for me. Thanks for the info!!
