Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Trump grew up in a world of vast privilege, but that doesn't mean that he wasn't emotionally wounded. Now, once again, the world pays the price for this deeply damaged man.

When he eventually falls, due to politics or health or time, those who propped him up should be made to answer.

[–] Soup@lemmy.world 13 points 16 hours ago (3 children)

Or, crazy thought, they should be made to answer now.

You’d be a great PR guy for the DNC with those empty, spineless, push-it-down-the-road words.

Maybe pick your battles. I don't think dude here is the cause of your woes.

Holding people accountable requires the political will to do so - and I’m talking about the people, not Congress.

The fascists won’t back down until and unless they’re afraid. They have to be made to feel fear. The old systems of shame and voting and criminal prosecution don’t work anymore.

Fourth box.

Answering now is preferred. Now, who you gonna find that's gonna do that? Congress is fucked, the courts are fucked, the police are fucked. That's why they get to run riot.

Unless you find someone to go "Surprise, it'sa me Mario!" on these people, there's nothing else right now.

You tell me, tough guy. When he dies or otherwise leaves office, who’s gunna do what you’re asking for? This is why your words are worthless, you have no idea what they even mean.

Actually, I will tell you, because we both know you don’t have an answer. There are millions of people protesting in the US right now, hundreds or even thousands of politicians who don’t get elected because their barely leftist politics are “too radical”, and so many judges who are right now trying to push ack against the administration and would be happy to punish them.

You’re talking out your ass, and unsurprisingly the only thing coming out is shit. “Now is preferable” fuck off and demand it, coward.

You're fighting for the same side dipshit, go fight them not your allies

Fighting?! This idiot isn’t fighting, he’s just trying to make himself feel better but has no clue about any of it.

Sometimes I worry I’m not doing enough but then I see you losers and realize just how low the bar is. Stand up and actually help or sit down and shut the fuck up.

You know nothing about either of us. Baseless claims can be dismissed just as easily.

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 11 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

That won't happen. High road, time to heal, all that. Ask Argentina.
