Other trying to run against him didn't meet criteria for getting on the ballot from what I understand (didn't have enough signatures from residents)

In terms of media manipulation there are spots that are harder for them to manipulate. One thing that comes to mind are the direct person to person interactions. Join local groups fighting back and sign up for their direct mailing lists. When you get their messages, share them widely with people you know directly & in group chats

You can reach a lot of people with it and it's harder to manipulate millions of group chats that they probably don't even know exist

Progressive groups seem to be endorsing Erick Allen from what I have read

Nice, thank you for adding that so quickly! Would probably be good to mention that it exists both on the pinned post https://50501.chat/post/1117 and any Reddit posts about the lemmy instance

With a likely increase of people here from Reddit, might be helpful to use this to offer a old.50501.chat domain so people have something familiar

See what it looks like on some instances:

Local & state level is where a lot of the progress will live on in the near future. Call your local legislators & vote in every local election - they are way more frequent across the country than you may realize

Local and state officals can enforce laws on their own without federal involvement

Assuming everything is doomed to fail is exactly what Trump and Musk want from you. They want you to stop fighting or trying because you might realize they are weaker than you think. Don't do their work for them

The state and local is where most of the progress is going to happen in the next 4 years. They control a lot more than you think - even including running elections for federal office. Pay attention to all your local elections - they are going to matter a lot

EDIT: While I'm here, going to mention there are local elections in some localities across the US tomorrow (feb 25th) in parts of California, Connecticut, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, & Maine

Here's a substack post with more info about those local elections
