Keeping in mind Valve is a for profit company. Why would they host anything that adds extra bandwith cost and does not increase revenue on their platform? Alternative "appstores" on Android are not hosted by Google, as far as I know.

I may or may not know multiple developers that create new issues while avoiding fixing old ones.
Fair enough. Same for me personally, but I think it's just cool if it works natively.
Looking at related github issues it may have been fixed, if I understood correctly. GitHub link was added to the article. I would check on my own machine but it's 4 AM and I just finished hyperfocus fuled coding session, gnight. Hope this works on desktops fingers crossed.
