How else does one become magneto?

Sounds like it might be a good time to use some form of collective bargaining. Why aren’t they all striking?

Well… This post sent me down a rabbit hole -> Unequal Hours if anyone else is curious.

Not on the side of closing it down, I do believe it has goodwill value that reminds consumers to be attentive to energy use. But, it made me think of this article where they approved a gasoline powered alarm clock.

The USB onboard controller on my ASUS Crosshair VI seems to have busted on me. That being said, it would seem I’m now in the market for a new MB.

I haven’t been keeping up with the industry and my MB crash is a bit unexpected, so I’m coming into this a bit blind. Looking for advice or feedback from your own experiences.

I have the following components:

  • 2 x 16 gb 288 pin 3600 DDR4 SDRAM G.Skill Trident Z Neo
  • EVGA FTW3 RTX 3080Ti
  • AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-core/16thread
  • Seasonic - PRIME TX-1000 80+ Titanium PSU

Looking for suggestions. Not sure if it’d be better to get a new CPU and MB or continue with the current setup with a new MB. I’m also vibing with MBs that have very little to no RGB, I’m a bit RBG’d out.

Appreciate any help or advice

(Edit: added PSU)

Aid: we have a “housing crisis” Mr. President. What if we limit how many homes an individual can own, vacation homes tend to be vacant 90% of the year and don’t contribute much to local communities.

Drumpf: Well I’m not selling any of my vacation homes. Hear me out, what if we squeeze out the poorest people from their homes and put them on the streets.

Aid: hahaha, oh wait… you’re serious

Well said. I also grew up in a ‘rightoid’ family and can confirm.

I would also add that they tend correlate wealth as a sign of intelligence and hold wealthy people in the highest esteem.

They also try to emulate wealthy people via conspicuous consumption, creating an outward illusion of wealth and success. I have a family member on section 8 who buys luxury goods to lord their ‘success’ over their friends and neighbors. It’s absolutely mind blowingly insane.

I guess I start making donations to the post office by becoming a stamp hoarder?

What a treasure trove of data they’ll collect on us all. I hate this timeline

This, I was also a hiring manager in sciencey fields. We also verified education, even with a robust job history. I share the same sentiment and could not embellish on my resume because it’s pretty hard to lie about technical expertise in science and engineering. Also, the labs I’ve worked in have very expensive instruments, not a good idea to ‘wing it’ with those things.
