Chicken of the Woods is another easy, (and VERY tasty), to identify mushroom for beginners once they know what to look for. There are many different types of look a likes, but they are extremely fibrous and chewing and piece of wood would be tastier.

I do some light general foraging in the forest I live in and mushrooms are a seasonal treat. And I often have Shaggy Mane mushrooms growing in my yard, (don't worry, I do not use fertilizer or herbicides ever). And fresh chanterelle mushrooms are an edible gift from the gods.
Like most things in life, mushroom hunting isn't super dangerous, (if you mess up the odds are it won't kill you outright but they will make you wish it had), but it does take some learning and practice.
The miss use of the term "billet". As in "Made from Billet Aluminum to military specs" I have literally sourced metals from all over the world. Ain't no one ever tried to sell me "billet" anything.
A billet is an old term that was used when iron and steels were smelted and then poured in to either kind of a bread loaf mold or a round shape called a bloom. It would then be reheated at a later time and then formed into the final shape. No one would use "billet" or a "bloom" to make anything from it. It would have been "sponge" like and to soft to be useful for anything.
Fecking sales trying to market to ignorant people with a term that doesn't mean what anyone thinks it means.
I used to teach math in the local school. The kids had a great interest in 3D printing because I had a few fun items in my classroom that I had 3D printed. I decided to spend a couple of weeks teaching a bit of CAD through having the kids spend it designing a personalized key chain to print.
It took me 3 days of class time to teach them how to use a mouse.......They couldn't grasp the idea that a touch screen and CAD don't go together, you need that mouse to make it work. It quickly became apparent that things quickly became difficult for them if it doesn't have a touch screen.
And while some classes are always a bit better than others, there was always a noticeable number of them that struggled with using a mouse.
