It's not like James Brown is likely to run in 2028, so what's your point?

The reason we have a fascist groundswell in this country is the same reason any country has ever had a fascist groundswell.

  1. Wealth inequality drives populism.
  2. Wealthy liberals shut out left populism.
  3. Right populism benefits and quickly turns fascist.

Yes, it's almost like overthrowing an established power is difficult. Who would have guessed.

I am so fucking sick of doomerism.

Neither party has ever had a real primary for an incumbent president. Neither party has ever not had a primary without an incumbent president, since we started having primaries. I'm not defending it, because it's an affront to democracy, but if your looking at the past to predict the future, then you should do it right.

We elected a black man president in 2008, then suddenly got too racist. Sure, that makes perfect sense. It couldn't possibly be the platforms the Democrats were running on. /s

They have definitely heard. They just don't care.

I'm feeling deja vu from 2016. Hopefully the primary electorate has learned something that the establishment has not.

Democratic voters need to find their balls and brains to deny the establishment their choice instead of reluctantly getting behind the MSNBC boosted candidate. The best thing we can do for the Democratic party at this moment is criticize the fuck our of establishment bullshit.

I don't know why ~~you're~~ you were being downvoted, you're absolutely right.

I think you just answered your own question. :)

That sounds too sciency for most Americans.

Cities hosting the WC almost never recoup their investments. Sure, it's a windfall for a select few, but it is a bad investment for everyone else.

'vicious' meaning black or brown with any kind of accent.

It's relevant to why it didn't matter.
