Yeah, Google used to be the "Cool" company back then. I used to root for them.
Good news! But it doesn't change the fact that Google tried to do this in the first place.
So, this what the marriage between PC gaming & console looks like.
You were lucky! But I am sure there will be some ways around it in a matter of time. Maybe with some way to sideloading them or something.
