The political system is completely fucked. A 3rd party might help, but it seems fairly inevitable that they too will become like the democrats as financial interests and lobbying corrupt them against the will of the working class. I think going grassroots with direct action is currently the best way to both resist, and build horizontal decentralized power that isn't prone to corruption.

  1. find local communities and get involved to make connections
  2. We can effect things drastically with a general strike. This targets the establishment's income streams, and can bring a fascist government to its knees if done on a large enough scale.
  3. Contact a union and attempt to unionize your workplace so that the general strike is even more effective (plus, ya know, better pay and working conditions as a bonus!)

This method would not only work in the US, but anywhere in the world.

Union Suggestions:

  • ๐ŸŒ Global: IWW (Franรงais) - (Espaรฑol)
  • ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ท Argentina: FORA
  • ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ Australia: ASF-IWA
  • ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ท Brazil: FOB
  • ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ฌ Bulgaria: ARS, CITUB
  • ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช Germany: FAU
  • ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ท Greece: ESE
  • ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น Italy: USI
  • ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฑ ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ช Netherlands & Belgium: Vriji Bond
  • ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ Spain: CNT
  • ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ช Sweden: SAC
  • ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง United Kingdom: UVW
  1. Continuing to participate in publicly visible resistance demonstrations like 50501 to encourage others to stand up with you and prove to that there are millions of others who will join them in the fight. A large part of Nazi Germany's success in taking over the country was a lack of massive public demonstrations against the new regime, making people feel helpless and afraid to take a stand.

If we put in the work, we can resist this and we can win. Look at how effective these methods were when used in Chile in 2019.. If we completely reject the political system and rebel on a mass scale, there is NOTHING they can do to stop us.

Highly recommend Linux Mint. It's the most beginner friendly, smooths things over, has a great app store, and will make you feel mostly at home.

It's a fun little game. Def worth grabbing if you haven't played it.

It's quite possible these guns really are just going off due to stacked tolerances. ForgottenWeapons did a good video on the theory.

Consider directing that rage into the methods seen in the Chile documentary in my first response (I edited it in, so you may not have seen it).

I think it's good to be prepared for a civil war scenario, but we should be doing everything we can to avoid one.

Don't be a hostage of the gun... But have one and know how to use it well.

Unfortunately, the liberal party in Germany ultimately became complicit with the Nazi party.

Our current democratic party is completely corporate captured, and do not have any ethical fortitude to stand against the regime. They are cowards who will take the easy path, even at the expense of us all.

Let's try a general strike first, since if the military doesn't fracture and join us, you're looking at open slaughter (or at best, The Troubles)

Look how powerful civil disobedience and an extended general strike was against the regime in Chile back in 2019.

If the more liberal parts of the movement didn't go for the reform bait, they would've won.

It implicated the police, and the court systems will always protect the police, even at the expense of imprisoning innocents.

Having a home printer allows for easy printing of shipping labels, zines, letters, etc.

As for books, it can be useful for rarer books that a library may not have access to, though that is a bit more rare of a need.

I've had an operational printer in the household since around the year 2000, and I cannot fathom not having access to one. I would be a virtual headless chicken running around wailing about gutenburg or something.

Switching from Ink to Laser printers was a game changer as far as maintenance and costs (you can pick up a reconditioned laser printer from the early 2000's from a company that specializes in refurbing them and rock it for decades).

If you can't personally make it, it'd help if you spread the word to your friends and family.

While we advised against linking to mainstream social media in the monthly meta, I'm making an exception in this case since this movement is largely being self organized on the r/50501 subreddit.

To find your state, load all the comments until it stops, then use Ctrl + F and search for your state, then expand the comments for that to see what time and place the protest is in your area.

Stay safe, solarpunks. Bring first aid kits if you have them!
