New Mexico was Nuevo México before the US was the US. Hell it was Nuevo México before Jamestown was settled.

The caterpillar of that species looks like a tiny toupee or mustache, but is one of the most venomous caterpillars in existence. They're native to where I live and we call them "asps".

You're all good. Hill Country is def drier than anything east of it.

You can play split screen multiplayer if you go to the 2p wireless mode and make an empty room to run around in. There'll be an annoying waiting to connect message at the very bottom though. The only downside is that you can't do the P block challenges. But the ? Panels and Peach Medallions are still there. My 4 year old loves doing this with me.

Texas does have desert. About 10% of the state is desert, specifically the Chihuahan desert, the largest one in North America. I'm a 6th generation native of the Hill Country, and its very far from desert as you said. Primarily oak and juniper woodlands and grasslands. Surprised you picked the Hill Country as "the closest to a desert" when the Llano Estacado and Permian basin are much more arid and devoid of trees and other vegetation.

I agree with everything else you said. Texas has bad PR, and a hostile gov that hates everyone here, especially their own base.
