"Thunberg, 22, was earlier arrested under the Terrorism Act for holding a sign that said “I support the Palestine Action prisoners. I oppose genocide”. The British government has proscribed Palestine Action as a terrorist group."

The group uses direct action to disrupt the UK arms industry, which it accuses of being complicit with Israel in conducting a genocide. Palestine Action have mounted 45 documented direct actions in the United Kingdom.

“We are concerned at the unjustified labelling of a political protest movement as ‘terrorist’,” the experts said. “According to international standards, acts of protest that damage property, but are not intended to kill or injure people, should not be treated as terrorism.”

The Government asserts that the group is “terrorist” because some members have allegedly caused criminal damage to property, including at military bases and arms companies, with the aim of progressing its political cause and influencing the Government."

Man Thunberg has been chronically based since she hit the centre stage. No wonder Thiel thinks shes the antichrist.

Agreed the hero we should aspire ourselves to be like.

Even if you'd do one thousands of what she does it would be incredible for humanity.

[–] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 8 points 2 days ago

I aspire to one day be awesome enough that Peter Thiel thinks I’m the antichrist.

[–] Mastengwe@sh.itjust.works 2 points 10 hours ago

100% agreed!

[–] Knock_Knock_Lemmy_In@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Theil thinks everything he doesn't like is the antichrist. He thinks the Antichrist's message is "peace and safety" and to enforce the stagnation of technological and scientific progress. International financial bodies restricting the ability to hide wealth are the Antichrist. Etc.

[–] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 4 points 1 day ago

Yes, hes an unhinged fuckmonster of a man. But he also does think Thunberg specifically is the antichrist incarnate.

They threw paint on some military equipment. Claiming "criminal property damage" is quite the slanted representation of reality.

Not terrorism

The paint was inside a jet engine so it wouldn't work. Property was damaged.

However, the planes experienced no terror.

Cue the US liberals: “this is just SO uncouth.”

Thank you police for protecting us from this obvious danger /s

This is what they are trying to do with antifa here in the USA. As if anti genocide or anti fascism is bad. 🙃

[–] fort_burp@feddit.nl 36 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Under UK terrorism law it seems it is a lesser crime to bomb the King David Hotel in Palestine.

The attack did not change Britain's stance toward an Anglo-American agreement on Palestine, which was then in its concluding phase.

Which makes me wonder why the zionist did it? If they were getting what they wanted anyway.

[–] CheeseNoodle@lemmy.world 26 points 2 days ago

So if anti-genocide is ~~ill~~ anti-legal then the logical conclusion the government wants us to draw is?

You're a good UK citizen if you cheer for ethnic cleansng and aparthied, and let your government pay for it

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

Greta's not a UK citizen, so she's going to be less than human in the eyes of UK law.

Technically western Europe was the origin point

[–] Naevermix@lemmy.world 17 points 1 day ago

Maybe the real terrorists were the friends we made along the way

[–] FerretyFever0@fedia.io 16 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Wait, when did she get freed from Israel? I thought they'd captured her, never heard about her getting out.

[–] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 61 points 2 days ago (1 children)

She was released fairly quickly. But there was alleged abuse that happened during which I would bet my left nut is 100 percent true.

[–] raman_klogius@ani.social 35 points 2 days ago (1 children)

May your left nut grow and prosper.

...but not too much or else you should get that checked 😂

[–] frizzo@piefed.social 14 points 2 days ago (2 children)

I read this as let his nut glow and phosphor.

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 2 days ago (1 children)

"Nut glow and phosphor" is one of the less popular items on the Cheesecake Factory menu.

[–] frizzo@piefed.social 3 points 2 days ago

Available in all 53 states for a reason.

[–] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 3 points 2 days ago

I wish my nut glowed like that

[–] BassTurd@lemmy.world 38 points 2 days ago

She was released and had stories of abuse/torture while in captivity.

[–] frongt@lemmy.zip 12 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Not sure why the headline says arrested when the story is that she was released from the arrest from earlier this week.

[–] tacosanonymous@mander.xyz 35 points 2 days ago

Not sure but a lot of people are released after being arrested. Some are on bail or just plain free until a court date. Others get their charges dropped. They were all arrested though. This is particular notable because it shouldn’t be considered illegal. The government shouldn’t be able to skirt precedence when declaring a group a terrorist org.

[–] FatVegan@leminal.space 21 points 2 days ago

Most people get released after they get arrested
