  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

The good news is that there are plenty of other companies that make cardboard boxes. Buy from them.

[–] wuffah@lemmy.world 36 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They are major funders to groups spreading election falsehoods, including Restoration of America, which, according to an internal document obtained by ProPublica, aims to “get on God’s side of the issues and stay there” and “punish leftists.”

Since there is no God, this obsession with punishment makes me think that rich people simply see themselves as God through some sort of schizophrenic projection. But they can’t tell people that, so instead they’re “doing God’s work” which is itself an insane statement, but somehow carries enough credibility that entire corporations, governments, and religions are centered on it.

I wish the box industry were as boring as portrayed in The Simpsons.

Blind faith should be classified as a mental illness.

Well, it was an unstable kind of band, but I still think you're going a bit too far.

[–] watson387@sopuli.xyz 1 points 18 hours ago

Definitely unstable. Shit, Steve Winwood still hasn't made it home.

In near future Black Mirror USA I could see that being a real diagnosis but one of the checkboxes is that it only applies to rich patients paying cash for VIP boutique healthcare.

Anybody who needs to use health insurance or receive any kind of government benefits would never be exempted from any of the tried and true methods of control.

What sucks is that uline is a difficult company to boycott, for a regular person. My workplace orders a lot of supplies from uline, and it's not like I can convince them to buy from somewhere else because 1. Corporate handles administrative stuff like that and 2. At least one of my managers is definitely MAGA.

Worked for them as a contractor for a few months. Weird company. Never did make it onsite, but I was told as we were planning one that they are super weird about stuff like walking on grass and extremely conservative about dress code.

Ever since then, I've researched companies and owners before accepting jobs. And it brightens my day a bit to piss on their corporate logo, often found in urinals. I'm pretty sure the last place I saw them was Costco, which is a company I have a bit of respect for over the way they treat employees, but I wish they'd be more careful about vendors. Funding propaganda and evil public policy is bad even when you're just trying to save a buck.

[–] Turret3857@infosec.pub 4 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Costco is a part of the surveillance state companies like Flock are building, so I wouldnt necessarily say you should respect them.

"mitigate traffic flow on our properties, at gas pump and at car washes."

First: boo for not using an Oxford comma.

Second: their mitigation efforts are underperforming. Getting in and out of Costco is a fucking mess.

There are no non-evil companies.

Eventually you reach a CEO who only cares about his money. And we all know exactly which ~~pedophile~~ party they support.

[–] uncouple9831@lemmy.zip 3 points 13 hours ago

They could support several pedophiles, it's true, but scratching it out seems unnecessary just because it's the singular form.

[–] justaman123@lemmy.world 1 points 8 hours ago

The CEOs support both parties

[–] etherphon@lemmy.world 12 points 21 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago)

This company and family are a pox on our state, impeding the will of the people through massive campaign funding and lobbying.

[–] tyrant@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago (3 children)

I had no idea uline was evil. I liked their gifts!

[–] bathroomconnoisseur@lemmy.ca 10 points 1 day ago

I remember reading a weird pro trump op Ed in their catalogue in like 2016. It was extremely weird

[–] sem@piefed.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah damn it I liked their shit

[–] modus@lemmy.world 3 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

If you get their catalogs, read the letter from their CEO. It's a heap of maga-pandering garbage.

[–] EndlessNightmare@reddthat.com 1 points 14 hours ago

Yeah, they are rather open about being shitstains.

[–] tyrant@lemmy.world 1 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Yikes! I always just tossed it into the recycle bin!

[–] modus@lemmy.world 1 points 11 hours ago

As you should. But not before learning about how minorities are takin yer jerbs.

[–] AmidFuror@fedia.io 7 points 1 day ago

They fuel election denial when they are sold. Not when they sit in your home. Not when they are reused to pack or ship something else.

What a dumb fucking article. The last thing you want people doing is throwing out or recycling Uline boxes and then forgetting the controversy and buying more down the road.

[–] jeffw@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

I somehow missed this or forgot about it

[–] Cyberflunk@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

this family needs some anon attention

[–] wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world -5 points 1 day ago
