Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Ignoring the growing ‘60 Minutes’ controversy appears to be the network’s path forward.

Discussion of the growing 60 Minutes controversy was conspicuously absent from a CBS editorial meeting on Tuesday morning.

The network's MAGA-curious new editor-in-chief, Bari Weiss, who personally spiked a segment critical of the Trump administration that was set to air Sunday night, was on the call but did not address the now-viral report that a Canadian affiliate mistakenly aired.

The Washington Post and Vanity Fair reported that Weiss, 41, joined the meeting via Zoom and "waved hi" from her car but did not speak. CNN's Brian Stelter reported that the 60 Minutes controversy was not mentioned during the meeting.

Bari Weiss' whole career has been laundering far-right talking points for reactionary "centrists."

She's a ghoul, and I have to think that she knows it but the pay is good.

I would have used a different c-word than “curious”

For real.. Like stop being so playful with the verbiage. One does not dip their toe into fascism just to test how it feels.

The US will be Gilead before anyone in the media will speak truth to power and dare call one of these traitors a "fascist propaganda operative".

They can't even bring themselves to call out a lie 99% of the time.

No US politician, public servant, or military members will hold the oligarchy accountable. The people are the only ones who'll do what's necessary... or they won't and billions will suffer the consequences. Millions already have.

I continue to be at a loss to understand the mechanics of how enough people will effectively organize and focus their collective effort to cause change for the good. Most populist revolutions seem to end poorly, even if they succeed in displacing the incumbent regime.

"MAGA curious" is the most disingenuous phrase. Unlike things like sexuality, you don't have to experiment with a political ideology to see if it fits you. No one says, "Well, I've been supporting equal rights and healthcare for all, but I think I might want to deport anyone with brown skin and protect pedophiles if they're rich." She's just doing a variant of Rogan's "I'm just asking questions" thing.

I know which word you meant, but I think that “complete” fits nicely

“Cultist” works.

I hear you can get sued for removing segments for political reasons...

Edit: this feels like it would be a great use of Newsom's money

Match the 10 Billion trump sued for

I watched it on Youtube and I'd say send all the magats there but it's way to luxurious for what they deserve.
