Yup. The holocaust was legal. Slavery was legal. Hiding Jews (to help them escape the holocaust) was illegal. The Underground Railroad (to help slaves escape the south) was illegal. Legality often aligns with morality, but legality cannot be used as a basis for morality. Because throughout history, people have used laws to justify heinously immoral acts.
For the major crimes, yes.
Murder, theft, etc.
But for other crimes, like the one in the article, it's moral to resist.
The vast majority of laws cover petty things that may or may not be moral rather than the big stuff, though.
The vast majority of laws are regulations. And the vast majority of those were written in blood.
They can mostly be summed up as, "don't do that, or do this specifically, because someone could die otherwise".

Oh God you can't imagine the shit that I get into the minute somebody mentions morality and I asked them whose morality are you talking about. I live in a very highly religious area and the looks people give me is hilarious. Seriously fuck their thought of what morality is or isn't.
The real answer is: the fey queen Titania and her sylvan council of woodland beings, duh.

When were talking about simple ass shit that we probably barely need a legal system to deal with, sure.
Don't kill, don't steal, don't rape, these are rules that every man of any creed can live by (sorry, had to)
But as soon as the law gets more complicated than "don't visit violence on others unprovoked" it just becomes the state threating you to do what it wants
So she gets convicted of obstruction, but Trump steals and hides classified documents and is basically apologized to for the inconvenience of getting charged?
Not just apologized to but he also just sued the government for a $230 million payout for being investigated over illegally keeping the documents and its up to the president and head of the DOJ whether to pay it 🙄

Weird how all the “protest voters” I know, seem to have no problem with anything currently happening. In fact, any time I bring up politics, I’m reminded of how the real fascism was having to wear masks.

I swear if the Democrats do not pardon her, they will lose any banking left as people are helping in what they have been saying. We need to let them know that it's on the list of people that need to be given a damn pardon.

Attacking an independent judiciary is a clear, unequivocal sign of unbridled fascism.
This was corrupt AF for Judge Cervera to state this especially since they were not even party to that claim. This judge was only present for requesting the moronic agents to review policy with the Chief Judge. Other factors abused by DOJ was to blame but that shameful Judge Cervera just wrecked our state courts across the nation handing them over to the authoritarian federal police.
“Judges shouldn’t be helping defendants evade arrest,” Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Kristela Cervera told a jury.
Judges should (and up until now do) have wide discretion over how to run their courts.
Also, this nonsense is going to have a chilling effect on people being willing to legitimately go to court.

Lol during my therapy sessions I talk abt how I'm personally doing better but the state of the world is magnitudes worse in every respect. Also my healthcare premiums are skyrocketing and I either pay it or get screwed and walk away from my therapist cause I can't afford out of pocket sessions.
