We're good, thanks. - Canada

I recently switched from hellofresh to goodfood as I learned goodfood is Canadian, I wanted to quit hellofresh lately especially with the deregulation of the FDA and also just not wanting to be buying american shit.

I don't trust anything that comes from the States anymore.

I moved from the US to Canada. One of the biggest differences between the two I've noticed is the food. Not only is Canadian food fantastic, American food is straight up poison.

To give two examples, compare US and Canadian Heinz ketchup and froot loops. Canadian Heinz tastes sooooo much better, it doesn't have a weird aftertaste from the corn syrup. Canadian froot loops are paler in color since they use natural colors, and they also taste way better as a result. Fresh products like produce and meat are also superior up here

Edit: also, traditional Canadian treats are delicious

Good to know. Quality of food is so important to a nation but I'm guessing pretty hard to nail down. It would make a great economic index if done right.

Why would we accept ANY conditions? 4 years ago, the orange paedophile renegotiated the current deal and then reneged on it. What's to say we accept these conditions and the Felon President won't renege again?

Fuck this con artists and all his sycophants

I totally agree, unfortunately I don't have too much hope in any leadership.

[–] Jhex@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

I unfortunately, also agree... Carney was "elbows up" during the campaign and promptly switched to "bottoms up"

Unitedstatesian here: that “elbows up” strategy really is going to be your best bet going forward. You should start treating our government as a potential/likely adversary.

Why should we bend to the will of Nazi’s? I don’t want to help them exploit us !

I wouldn't put too much faith in (any actually) Canada government not to bend. Hope they don't, though.

[–] VieuxQueb@lemmy.ca 4 points 2 days ago

Yeah, I would be surprised if they did not bend actually. After all, they do like to work for the large corporations instead of the people.

It doesn't expire until 2036, long after the current twat will be pushing up the daisies that are getting watered by warm piss.

The AESO’s 2024 Annual Market Statistics report still listed Montana as a net exporter of electricity to Alberta despite the reduced imports. It also says Alberta imported more power in 2024 from Montana than it did from British Columbia or Saskatchewan.

....and yet, they're still not happy.

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 4 points 2 days ago

Who? Alberta's traitors?

Reminder that no agreement made with this pedophile is worth anything. He breaks agreements as often as he breaks wind from his diet of McDonalds hamberders.

There's no point of negotiating anything with someone like him.

It's Interesting to watch an empire just give up its place at the top of the world order. I can't say it's only time it's ever happened in history but it's still such a bad look but also not unexpected given how self absorbed Americans had become.

Internal inequality and corruption negatively impacts a nations ability to project power globally. America voted for this. Now we all get to watch China casually walk into the top spot.
