Closest thing that fits is my acoustic guitar.
Built by my uncle who later gave up his business and emigrated to Sweden.
So no new ones will ever be built.
Last time I checked, they went for around 6000β¬ on Ebay.
Do you feel lucky to possess it?
Yes, and a bit guilty cause I haven't played it in a while.
What circumstances led you to both want to play, and -> ultimately, playing ?
Got into LARPing and playing the guitar always guarantees a place by the campfire on cold evenings.
I have an old Roomba that doesn't have wireless connectivity, except infra-red. They don't build them like that any more. All new models have bluetooth and wifi, no matter if you use that, or not. They will drive around with that extra hardware, maybe even supply it with power, even if you just use the hardware buttons to control it.
Some ppl are paranoid about someone remote hacking their Roomba. I doubt it's possible, but still it's priceless to have a "dumb" one.
Can you... can you give us an example of a thing that fits this description?
Sure! My passwordmanagerfile. I had to spend an ENTIRE DAY(!) manually copying over or resetting account passwords when 1Password announced and enforced in their apps that they were becoming subscription only and my passwords couldnt sync between my iPhone and Mac 1Password apps I paid the full app cost for respectively.
Never again would I ever leave control of my shit to a profit-driven company
You can just export all your passwords from 1password and import them somewhere else. Iirc bitwarden supported 1passwords full format when I moved. Pretty sure there are importer plugins for keepass as well.
Now you can just, I dont believe it was that way when I'm talking about. It definitely wasnt like seamless at the time or why would I have had to have spent all that time?
It's been available since 1password 8 in 2020. But even before that, they've always had CSV exports, which keepass also has importers for.
why would I have had to have spent all that time?
I'm pretty sure you didn't have to.
I would argue this is the exact opposite of what you requested.
Your example is subjectively priceless.
Subjectively because I too have changed password managers. It took me more than a day but less than a week, and that means itβs quite easy for me to put a price on.
There is no material value in your password file.
If something has a priceless material value, no one could afford it ...
Not so, the sellers may not have recognized its true value
