That kid never stood a chance, being born into that family
Having a country where law and neutrality don't apply gives a lot of opportunities like this.
The woman is Leavitt's nephew's mother but is estranged from her child. She has no real relationship to Leavitt.
The real story here is that she was a DACA kid with one arrest for battery, the legal outcome of which is unclear. Obviously "the worst of the worst".

Maybe not even that. Former girlfriend of Leavitt's brother? Former one-night-stand of Leavitt's brother? The article is unclear in a way that is either purposeful or ignorant. I'm not sure which.
I don’t think that’s correct I’ve read accounts stating she was involved in the child’s life. What I read was that the brother and her were engaged until he won a million dollars from Draft Kings. Her family put up a go fund me but I’d be skeptical that the Leavitt family A) didn’t have anything to do with this and B) didn’t screw her over because they could afford an attorney and she couldn’t. This woman is an ex of Leavitt's brother and the mother of his child. She also happens to have brown skin. It looks a lot like they're using ICE to go after family members they don't like, likely to solve a pesky custody issue.
