Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

I appreciate how many headlines add his age for articles like this.

[–] ieatpwns@lemmy.world 49 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I hate it because I always think it’s the last one

[–] Asafum@feddit.nl 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I hate it because it reminds me that we could still be hearing from this cunt for another 20 freaking years....

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 13 points 2 days ago

I doubt it. I mean, I share the sense of dread, but man he’s a handful of neuron collapses away from total catatonia. Plus his blackened, shriveled heart is barely getting the blood all the way around.

Stroke, heart attack, fall, double secret covid, grand piano falling - the number of ways he could go at any moment is heartening.

Love it when people wind this cunt up. He's so thin skinned, he can't handle it.

[–] AbidanYre@lemmy.world 67 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Whoever finally causes him to stroke out deserves a parade.

[–] MagicShel@lemmy.zip 4 points 2 days ago

I will pitch in to pay for a statue of the guy. He deserves to be immortalized.

I'm surprised he hasn't already! I'm closer to half his age and I think I'd die within years if I lived like him.

[–] shittydwarf@piefed.social 44 points 2 days ago (1 children)

He really does have an incredibly fragile ego, it's mind-boggling to me how anyone could look up to this idiot

[–] Asafum@feddit.nl 22 points 2 days ago

They love him because he's vicious towards the people they dislike, but they don't even internalize that or refuse to, and will always deny it saying it's about "the economy" (that he's ruining...)

Suck another dick and fix your makeup, grandpa

[–] tanisnikana@lemmy.world 20 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Coulda called him “piggy.”

Missed opportunity

[–] Gork@sopuli.xyz 26 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I think he secretly likes watching these late night comedy hosts. This is the third or fourth time this week he's posted about them (Kimmel, Meyers).

They speak to his ego, even if he doesn't like what they're saying about him.

[–] aramis87@fedia.io 18 points 2 days ago

Thing is, he grew up in an era when being talked about on the shows actually meant that you were somebody - and because of prevailing gentility of the time, it generally meant you were loved or at least appreciated. And her can't stand that he's getting roasted instead of the blowjobs that he gets from Faux.

Senile dementia sufferer knowingly voted into the oval office by conservatives has dementia-induced temper tantrum. Video at 11.

[–] inb4_FoundTheVegan@lemmy.world 17 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Peak Streisand effect. I actively dislike Kimmel, but I watched the video that made the orange boomer mad.

I didn't watch a single episode until he got taken off the air by Trump.

Now I catch every monologue.

[–] sparky@lemmy.federate.cc 16 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It makes me so fucking angry and sad that my good-hearted father passed away at 74 but this cunt is still ticking at 79, and making millions of peoples’ lives worse.

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Yep both my parents kicked off a lot younger than him unfortunately. Only the good die young evil lives forever

[–] bagsy@lemmy.world 15 points 2 days ago

Narcissists HATE looking foolish. They absolutely can not handle being laughed at.

The best thing to do is ridicule and laugh at this clown.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago

“Usually when Trump gets a bill, he declares bankruptcy and doesn’t pay it,” Kimmel joked.

The comedian also spelled out what the release might mean. “We are one step closer to answering the question, what did the president know and how old were these women when he knew it,” Kimmel joked.

Orange Pop walkin’!

[–] warm@kbin.earth 8 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Man American talk shows are so weird. Do they have applause and laughter prompts?

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

Do they not where you are? I thought those were standard.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The constant "clapter" on political shows like The Daily Show and Last Week Tonight drives me absolutely fucking insane. It's so fucking cringe what people in these crowds think it's deserving of an applause break.

[–] warm@kbin.earth 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They have to be paid, they say the driest "jokes" and the crowd goes wild. They are like the lowest common denominator of comedy (if you can even call it such).

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 23 hours ago

I think the tickets to the shows are free, and they have comics that pump the crowds up, and then add "applause" signs, and you end up with clapter...

Still...

[–] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Lol Jimmy has been delivering some amazing digs at Trump since he came back. Like, seriously, you guys should listen to them.

[–] tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 day ago

Seth's been going after him too. In a world where karma existed the stress would catch up with his hamberder filled heart pretty quick, but I wouldn't even bet on him kicking it in the next 10 years unfortunately. Evil shitty ghouls tend to hang on forever, like fucking Kissenger did.

[–] madcaesar@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

I do he's by far my favorite. He's the closest to telling Trump eat a bag of dicks you fascist.

Stewart, Colbert etc are fun too, but I just can't laugh along the same old tame jokes.

You can't bring the same energy with Biden appearing sleepy and fucking Trump hauling people away in black vans.
